At 45 years old, I was working more than 50 hours a week while raising three kids at home. Most days I came home exhausted, mentally drained, and with very little left to give the people who mattered most. I realized that if I wanted to be a better father, husband, leader, and member of my community, I first had to become healthier—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I made a commitment to prioritize my health, my mindset, and my presence. I started eating healthier, exercising consistently, and making quality sleep a priority. Instead of spending my energy worrying about the future, I began preparing for it. I developed a meditation practice, became more mindful, and focused on being fully present with my family, my friends, and my community. My fitness journey began with simple jogs around the block. One mile became five. Five miles became a daily 5:00 a.m. running habit. As my confidence grew, I started setting bigger goals. Running a marathon had always seemed like something extraordinary—something other people did—but I decided to pursue it. I hired a running coach who helped me create a training plan and build my fitness. What surprised me was that the greatest transformation wasn’t physical. He helped me develop resilience, a growth mindset, and the confidence to push through discomfort. He encouraged me when things were hard, ran alongside me, and showed me what great coaching truly looked like. Crossing the finish line of my first marathon changed my life. I accomplished something I once believed was impossible, and that experience opened my mind to what else might be possible. Since then, I’ve completed multiple marathons, ultramarathons, and even a 100-mile race. Along the way, I’ve started a podcast, organized running clubs, volunteered in my community, and spent the last five years growing
